Also known as, Heater tunnel in longitudinal member.
From 1950 to the end of March 1951, Porsche used lever shocks to dampen the rear suspension. This panel was used during this time to accommodate the lever shock location and mounting point. In April 1951 this panel is slightly modified but still used up until June 1951 where the chassis design was revised and this panel was superseded.
The heater tube intake comes out over the top of the torsion tube during the use of this panel.
This panel is welded to the heel panel, the early style rear seat panel and rear frame junction plate - see (CS156RFJPL)
